Portable Appliance Testing (PAT)

The PAT test complies with all legal requirements and may even qualify you for a discount on your insurance premiums, as it proves how seriously you take safety issues. In the event of any damages claims, your PAT certificate proves that your electrical equipment & installations have been tested and certified.

Non-compliance with PAT standards can lead to severe punishments for corporations and landlords, ranging from fines to imprisonment. We therefore recommend that all relevant portable appliances are tested regularly by a competant qualified person.

PAT testing includes:

  • visual inspection
  • earth bond test
  • insulation resistance test
  • load test
  • earth leakage test
  • functional check

Each appliance is comprehensively tested  to meet the exacting requirements of the IEE code of practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment.  We use the latest PAT testing equipment and are able to test all portable appliances in your company including -  IT equipment, microwaves, 230V & 110V site equipment.  The inspection and testing will be carried out by a fully qualified electrical testing engineer.

All electrical equipment to be tested has to be disconnected from the mains supply. We realise the inconvenience that this can cause, especially in a busy office environment, that is why we provide an out of hours service at no extra cost.
